The First Working Transistor

On the 16th of December 1947 Bell Labs’ John Bardeen, Walter Brattain, and William Shockley built the first working transistor, replacing vacuum tubes and mechanical relays and revolutionizing the entire electronics world. The team was awarded a Nobel Prize in 1956.
